Manhart unveils its 630-PS take on the BMW M2 Competition

The second generation of the BMW M2 should debut later this year, but German tuner Manhart did not care to wait and instead turned a current M2 Competition into a supercar.

As usual with Manhart projects, the car makes use of a solid high-end turbocharger kit, as well as other upgraded internals and an ECU remap. The S55 inline-six is by no means bad in its stock state with 410 PS (404 hp / 302 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, but the upgrade takes it to supercar-rivaling 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft).

Other suggested options include an all-new exhaust system, M4 GT4 six-piston brake calipers for the front axle, and lightweight 19-inch wheels. KW coilovers are used to lower the suspension, and the body gets new side sill extensions, front spoiler and rear diffuser.

The cabin is track-ready with a removed rear bench, an extended and sturdy roll cage, Schroth safety harnesses and Recaro bucket seats. Carbon fiber can be found on the center console and paddle shifters here, and an extra Awron display sits on the dash displaying relevant engine information.
