It has been more than a year since BMW started road-testing its new M2, but we never had a chance to peek inside of it until now. Apparently, the changes are quite serious.
Despite all the cladding inside, it is obvious that the next-gen M2 comes equipped with the company’s newest dual-screen dash arrangement and an infotainment system powered by BMW iDrive 8.
The new features go along with a refreshed exterior looking more aggressive than that of the standard 2-Series, and a considerably redesigned front bumper that should improve cooling airflow.
Judging by the exhaust system, it is a Competition model. In its standard guise, the new M2 is expected to ship with the same 3.0-liter inline-six turbo as the M4, which produces 455 PS (449 hp / 335 kW). The biggest mystery is whether there will be a manual version; the drive will be on the rear axle for sure.
BMW will start producing the new M2 in Mexico in late 2022.
