New BMW M2 tries OEM tuning parts on

BMW has already come up with some M Performance options for the new M2, as evidenced by its recent social media posts. There are new wheels, a body kit and an exhaust system coming to the market.

The example in the photo gallery can be seen wearing a large front spoiler with winglets and a bumper with original side air intake inserts.

Wheel arch extensions and a different diffuser are the rear highlights. An impressively sized rear wing is not absent, either, and an extra spoiler can be found where the roof meets the rear window.

Buyers can also opt for a new exhaust system. The stock one has its four tailpipes arranged in pairs at both sides of the rear bumper. The M Performance system has all the pipes grouped in the middle, like on the Honda Civic Type R.

It remains to be seen when the parts will become available. The new M2 itself has only just debuted (see video), and will not be assembled until the spring 2023. It will be based on the same straight-six engine as the M4, rated at 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW). Rear-wheel drive will be the only option, but customers will be able to choose between eight-speed automatic and six-speed manual for transmission.
