Tuner gives the old BMW M2 CS a 200-hp advantage over the new one

The team of G-Power has found a way to make the previous-gen BMW M2 CS output much more power than the latest M2 flagship introduced in October.

In its stock guise (see video), the old Competition Sport model got 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque out of its 3.0-liter turbo six-pot. Adding a special turbocharger kit, modifying the ECUs and improving intake, injection and other systems let the tuning company get 660 PS (651 hp / 485 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque at the wheels.

The best the modern M2 can do is 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft), and the Bavarian carmaker isn’t planning on releasing any high-end versions of it anytime soon.

For those looking for a simpler, cheaper upgrade tuners offer a variety of engine modifications starting from 500 PS (542 hp / 405 kW). Raising the speed cap is also available. Those into looks may consider a sport exhaust system, new wheels and a carbon-fiber rear wing said to improve downforce on the rear axle.
