German tuner HJS Motorsport has unveiled a custom BMW M2 featuring a powerful chip tune and an upgraded exhaust system complete with new downpipes and stainless-steel catalysts. The best news is that all components are street-legal.
For starters, the company turned to Racechip for a software tune worth 90 PS (89 hp / 66 kW). A new downpipe linked with a Milltek high-flow muffler added another 15 PS (15 hp / 11 kW). As a result, the junior entry of the BMW M lineup managed to hit the dyno with 565 PS (557 hp / 416 kW) – even better than the stock M3 and M4 can do.
To help the driver handle the extra power, HJS amended the standard adaptive suspension with Eibach springs and replaced the tires with Pirellis. The wheels were left stock, which isn’t necessarily a bad choice for the M2.
