The BMW M2 Competition has recently struck a new high score – although it had nothing to do with things like acceleration or top speed. Piloted by Ashrita Furman and armed with a laser pointer, the vehicle has managed to burst 79 balloons within 60 seconds.
The new result is considerably better than Ashrita’s previous record score of 63 balloons in 2016.
To enter the Guinness World Records list, the vehicle received a powerful laser pointer that could pop up to 100 balloons in a straight line. However, wishing to highlight the agility and maneuverability of the sporty M2 coupe, the initiator of the challenge arranged them in the shape of a BMW logo.
The BMW M2 Competition comes equipped with a turbocharged V6 engine capable of 410 hp (306 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb·ft) of torque, partnered with either manual or semi-automatic transmission. The vehicle accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.2 seconds.
