The German-made BMW M2 Competition has once again entered the Guinness Book of Records, this time around by dissecting 117 rolled-up bamboo mats within 60 seconds.
The BMW racing team has retrofitted the vehicle with a rear-mounted blade. The mats were arranged in a semi-circular pattern so that the driver could slash them apart by drifting close enough to them.
As a result, the team has managed to improve their previous record by whopping 30 mats. As a spokesman for the company pointed out, however, the main goal of the experiment was to showcase the maneuverability and steering ease of the vehicle.
The BMW M2 Competition comes equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine rated at 410 hp (306 kW). It is available with a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed manual transmission. Regardless of your choice, it accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.2 seconds.
