BMW continues testing its next-generation M3 sedan/saloon at the famed Nürburgring circuit in Germany, and car spotters do their best to keep us invested.
The car is still reluctant to shed its test mule camo, so not much can be said about finer details of its exterior design. You might get luckier than we did if you take a closer look yourself and manage to discern something, though.
The new M3 will likely ship with the same 3.0-liter turbo-six engine as the latest X3 M and X4 M. Like its crossover SUV siblings, the car is generally expected to ship in two variants: standard (480 hp / 358 kW) and M Competition (510 kW / 380 kW). Both will come equipped with dual-clutch transmissions and AWD.
Another rumor says we might be looking forward to a special edition called Pure, which will allegedly feature a rear-wheel drive system along with manual gear switching. This is by no means official, of course.
The premiere date remains likewise uncertain. Some believe BMW will unveil the new M3 during the 2019 International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany, but others say it won’t do so until 2020.
