This is what REAL in-depth styling looks like

We have heard all sorts of things being named ‘tuning’ lately. Even such trivial mods as new wheels, a made-in-China plastic rear wing, or a set of fancy floor mats can be touted as ‘tuning’ nowadays. Now, this BMW M3 (E93) convertible is a perfect example of customization done right – to us, at the very least.

The former owner of the open-top ride had it equipped with the full Liberty Walk body kit. This included ultra-wide fender flares, an aggressively styled front splitter, wider, rounded-off bumpers both in front and in the back, low side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a gargantuan fixed rear wing. There is also a carbon trunk lid with an integrated ducktail spoiler, although this one stems from another Japanese auto parts manufacturer, Varis.

The car used to bwear a vivid green livery, but its current owner didn’t like it much, so he had it wrapped in a cool camouflage wrap, body and kit both. The rear wing is the only part that stands out in black.

The stock wheels gave way to three-piece, forged rims (WORK Brombacher VS XX). Clad in Toyo Tires R888R and helped by an Airlift 3P Performance suspension, they fill out their respective arches perfectly. A glimpse behind the spokes reveals STOPTech performance brake calipers.

Quite a few improvements have made their way into the cabin, as well. To us, the main highlights are the roll bar, the BRIDE low max bucket seats made of carbon fiber, and Corbeau 5-point safety harnesses.

As far as performance is concerned, this particular BMW M3 (E93) takes advantage of a Gintani engine control chip and an aftermarket exhaust system. The resulting boost for the on-board turbo V8 should exceed 20 hp (15 kW) and 20 Nm (14 lb-ft) of torque.

Overall, we’re very impressed. Aren’t you?
