An inside source in BMW claims the sporty M3 and M4 models will be revealed on September 23, 2020. This is in line with the statement BMW M CEO Markus Flasch made this spring that both models would debut in September.
The insider reports the company has already begun showing its M3 and M4 privately to select customers. He claims he attended one of these showings and learned that there would be an M3 Competition painted Isle of Man Green with black wheels, carbon fiber details outside and inside, and optional Laserlight headlights.
The only bit of information known about the M4 so far is that the car will ship in Sao Paolo Yellow.
Both will come rated at 480 hp (358 kW) in standard spec and 510 hp (380 kW) in Competition spec. Customers will be able to choose between RWD and AWD, as well as between six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic.
The less powerful RWD/manual versions will reportedly be the first to hit production (November) and the market (early 2021). Range-topping AWD variants should become available forwards the end of the next year. Later on, the range will expand to incorporate the new M3 Touring, M4 Convertible, CS, and SCL models.
