BMW is getting two performance cars ready to rumble: the M3 and M4 Competition Sport. According to BMW Blog, these will be coming to us with their three-liter inline-six engines boosted, AWD, and A/T in all specs.
Sources now claim that earlier rumors about an even higher spec called M$ CSL coming to the market were wrong. Those reports said the regular CS would have 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and the M4 SCL would have 540 PS (533 hp / 397 kW).
It was earlier claimed that the M4 CSL would offer a choice between manual and automatic, while the M3 CS and M4 CS would both go strictly auto. Extensive use of carbon-fiber parts should minimize the weight of both cars, and the CSL should be even lighter. Spy shots seem to indicate that major design changes are coming, too.
The launch date remains to be announced.
