Aftermarket tuning company AC Schnitzer and carmaker BMW built this unique E90 M3 GP3.10 a decade and a half ago for the Frankfurt Motor Show, giving it an LPG drivetrain instead of the stock petrol engine.
The regular 4.0-liter V8 capable of 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW) made room for a larger 5.0-liter V10 rated at 552 PS (544 hp / 406 kW). This should have resulted in a top speed increase from 250 km/h (155 mph) to 320 km/h (199 mph), but the coupe showed 335 km/h (208 mph) in one of the tests.
LPG (propane/butane gas) powertrains are usually employed in vehicles where fuel economy is important, but they are also viable for racing purposes. Such cars also produce cleaner exhaust than petrol cars.
On the exterior side of things, the one-off M3 rocks a body kit, rear fenders flared by 60 mm (2.4 inches), and original Aachen wheels. The cabin makes use of a special leather trim.
The asking price is €69,980, down from €198,000 when it was still new.
