In the latest episode of our trending section “Overpriced Old Cars”, a 2003 BMW M3 is up for grabs in the United States right now for $79,900, seven grand above the new M3 Competition and five grand above the M4.
The seller claims the car has only around 7,500 miles (12,000 kilometers) under its belt and is well-specced with manual transmission instead of automatic. It wears a Carbon Black paint and has grey Nappa leather inside.
The trim level ensures passengers enjoy access to automatic seat adjustments, a Harman/Kardon audio system, and a sunroof. Further features of note include satellite navigation, Xenon headlights and 19-inch forged wheels.
Powering the coupe is a 3.2-liter naturally aspirated I6 with undisclosed performance. The E46 generation of the BMW M3 (see video) got between 333 and 360 metric horsepower out of this engine in manual version (328-355 hp; 245-265 kW, depending on the modification). It was able to conclude the standard sprint in 4.9-5.2 seconds.
A similar M3 cropped up on sale in the USA early this month. It also had a manual gearbox and under 6,800 miles (11,000 km) under its belt. The auction winner paid $83,000 for it.
