BMW M has released another video dedicated to the new M3 Touring, offering an interesting perspective on its origin story. Apparently, the upcoming rival of the Audi RS4 Avant and Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate was put together from two different cars.
Specifically, the engineering team used a G80 M3 sedan and a G21 3-Series wagon for this project, ending up with a long-roofed family hauler running on sedan chassis and tech.
When the BMW M3 Touring hits the showrooms, it will be a spiritual successor of sorts to the unique M3 E46 Touring Concept designed over two decades ago. Among other things, it will offer automatic gear switching and AWD in all versions.
