The legendary E36 generation of the BMW 3-Series Coupe is loved and adored the world over, but it is still not every day that you find a fan who actually says they put £250,000 into their car. Nonetheless, one such car is on sale in the UK right now.
The Bavarian manufacturer only made 356 examples of the range-topping GT spec, painting the entire batch British Racing Green. Like the rest of the batch, this car received a three-liter inline-six engine from the factory, but the owner had it retrofitted with a shortened intake manifold and a different camshaft.
The engine underwent its latest maintenance three years ago and is currently producing 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW). Other notable mods include a limited-slip differential, KW adjustable dampers and springs, and an AP Racing brake system with four-piston calipers.
The record mentions six previous owners, one of whom drove it on the Nürburgring. At one point, it was even driven by the late Sabina Schmidtz, the Queen of the North Loop.
Due to having over 321,000 km (200,000 miles) under its belt, the car is now being offered online for a fraction of the price of its mods: £45,000, which converts into $56,600.
