The current year is pivotal for BMW, which is celebrating 50 years of its M Performance division. The company has already launched the M3 Touring wagon, but BMWBlog believes that there is another M vehicle set to debut later this year – a very powerful and expensive one.
If we had to make a guess, we would say that the description matched the ‘M Hommage’ mentioned in passing last month. The M Hommage is rumored to be the ultimate form of the M4 CSL shown in the gallery and the video here. Among other serious upgrades, it will allegedly get a sophisticated aerodynamic kit.
Power-wise, the new Hommage model may produce as much as 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft), which a ZF eight-speed automatic will probably carry to the rear wheels. BMWBlog believes the car will reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds and max out near 300 km/h (186 mph).
Only 50 examples will be made and offered starting from around €600,000, the anonymous source claims.
