BMW has not even properly introduced its M3 CS model yet, but its characteristics have already leaked online – at least, this is what Bimmerpost is telling us. The spec sheets posted on the forum suggest that the sedan will come very close to the M4 CSL Coupe in terms of performance.
To that end, it will allegedly use a turbocharged six-cylinder engine rated at 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is said to share some of the components with the M4 GT3 racing powertrain and to drive all four wheels, although the transmission type remains to be revealed. The M4 ships exclusively with an M Steptronic 8A/T, but this may not necessarily be the case for the M3 CS.
The documents leaked by Bimmerpost list the spec for three different M3 CS versions, two left-hand-drive and one right-hand-drive. The tech and design stays consistent between these, just the steering mechanism layout changes based on the target market.
