A 2010 BMW M3 GTS Coupe will cross the auction block in Italy on May 20, 2023 estimated at more than €200,000 due to its sheer rarity. The BMW M division made only 138 units, and this particular one is barely used with 9,934 km (6,173 miles) on the clock.
The GTS was the most extreme modification of the M3 at the time, and was considered track-focused. The company increased the engine displacement from 4 to 4.4 liters to deliver 444 PS (438 hp / 327 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque to the crank. The coupe had a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, a carbon-fiber roof, a titanium exhaust system and a plethora of lightweight parts dropping its curb weight by 136 kg (300 pounds). As a consequence, the M3 GTS hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds – 0.2s faster than the original M3 did with the same transmission type.
Elsewhere, the car featured suspension tweaks, new shock absorbers, performance brakes and an aero kit revised to include an adjustable splitter and a rear wing.
Judging by the plaque on the front panel, it is the 18th example made. The title mentions two owners, with the second one buying the car a few years ago. Whoever offers the highest bid will be getting a full package of documents and some OEM accessories as well, notably a champagne bottle and a scale replica of the car.
