Drag Race: 850+PS BMW M3 vs. Ford Mustang

Carwow has improvised a supercar race between a BMW M3 and a Ford Mustang. If you are wondering where the ‘supercar’ bit comes in, just check out the modifications.

The rear-wheel-drive Mustang uses a 5.0-liter V8 in tandem with a new supercharger, which allows it to slam the wheels with 872 PS (860 hp / 641 kW) and 902 Nm (665 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is six-speed manual.

As capable as the ‘Stang is, it outweighs its rival with 1,720 kilos (3,792 pounds) versus just 1,595 kg (3,516 lbs).

The M3 makes do with its standard 3.0-liter I6, but the twin turbos are gone and a single massive turbocharger sits in their place. The potential output is estimated at 950 PS (937 hp / 700 kW), but the tuner caps it at 850 PS (838 hp / 625 kW) and 950 Nm (700 lb-ft). A seven-speed auto transmission drives the rear wheels.

Which one is your favorite in this closely matched showdown?
