Lightweight Performance has rolled out a less common take on the BMW M3 Touring (G81), leaving the engine power alone but upgrading numerous other performance-related aspects of the car.
Custom Eibach springs let the tuner drop the front suspension by 25 mm (1 inch). The owner of the shop argues that the M3 always had a somewhat high-set nose from the factory, and lowering it was instrumental in improving steering. The springs at the rear end were swapped out for a softer ride, but the height remained the same.
The exterior received carbon-fiber plastic applications to the front and rear spoilers, a fake rear diffuser, an authentic M4 CSL grille, a full-body wrap and 21-inch lightweight wheels.
A lighter, low-pressure exhaust system rounded off the list of modifications. LP replaced the entire exhaust path from the downpipes to the tips. At the dyno stand, the car was confirmed to output 10-15 horsepower and 10-15 Newton-meters of torque more than before the tuning.
All specific times and other results remain to be announced, as the project is still very much a work in progress.
