Meet HPT ONE X, a BMW M3-based supercar hitting 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds

Swiss tuning company HPT has turned the already capable BMW M3 Competition into a purebred supercar slayer with a power boost to 1,000 horsepower and record-breaking dynamic performance.

To achieve this, the team retrofitted the standard 3.0-liter I6 with a plethora of high-end racing components, including forged pistons and rods, beefier TTH turbos and an all-new fuel system. The result was estimated at 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque.

In practice, the Bavarian saloon hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.3 seconds, reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) just 4.2 seconds later and passes 300 km/h (186 mph) in a total of 15.4 seconds from start. On a half-mile drag strip, its exit velocity is around 296 km/h (184  mph), the tuner reports. The only requirement for this kind of performance is to use E85 fuel instead of pump gas. That said, the car still accepts ON98+ gas.

Elsewhere, the build uses AST lowering springs, custom forged wheels sized 20” front and 21” rear, and leather-bound bucket seats. An eight-speed automatic transmission carries the torque to all four wheels through a reinforced clutch.
