IND Distribution has taken a BMW M3 Touring and unleashed its sportier side by replacing the standard roof with one made from lightweight carbon fiber.
The tuner found it unfair that the M3 sedan could be optioned with a carbon top straight from the factory while its wagon counterpart could not. BMW had actually explained it before: it had to invest substantial money in upgrading its Munich factory for the production of the new M3 lineup. Adding extra equipment to the assembly line to offer the M3 Touring with a carbon top would cost even more and probably never pay off due to the relatively small production quantity of the wagon.
Regardless, IND Distribution was able to do what the Bavarians could not, and the result is shown in detail in the video below. By the way, the car is getting ready for its SEMA debut this year – hence the air-ride suspension, EBC brakes, aggressive body kit and Vossen wheels, among other things.
