Puerto Rican tuning company Bimmer PR has unveiled what is probably its most hardcore project so far, tuning a 3.0-liter I6 engine of a BMW M3 to over a thousand horsepower, CarBuzz reports.
To outperform the recently introduced Lamborghini Revuelto, the saloon received a turbocharger kit from KLM Race with Precision Turbo&Engine turbos, a CSF intercooler, a methanol injection system, and a titanium exhaust system.
When tanked with E85 for fuel, the car hit the dyno with 1,026.7 PS (1,013 hp / 755 kW) and 1,182 Nm (872 lb-ft) of torque. To put things into perspective, the Revuelto superhybrid mentioned above churns out ‘just’ 1,015 PS (1,001 hp / 747 kW) and the M3 Competition engine doesn’t exceed 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) in factory spec.
Bimmer PR claims their engine is the first BMW mill in Puerto Rico on record to output more than a thousand horsepower. Aside from the extreme tune-up, the car in the video received a carbon-fiber body kit and new wheels.
