CarBuzz has posted photos of a BMW M3 saloon with its S58 engine reportedly tuned to a lofty 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW). Let’s check it out.
The standard BMW M3 Competition (see video) maxes out at 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW). The tuners behind the project claim they have managed to squeeze an additional 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) out of the car thanks to a hybrid turbocharger setup. It necessitated a complete overhaul of the cooling system, which was also done.
The result is known as ‘BMW M3 GT4’ and will be appreciated by all BMW track day enthusiasts. The car has a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. All dynamic performance data remains to be revealed, though.
On the outside, the extreme M sports new bumpers, forged wheels, a massive rear wing, and carbon-fiber side sill extensions. The interior has not been photographed yet, but the company says there is an added roll cage there.
