BMW Teases Electric M3

BMW has released new images of a camouflaged electric M3, offering a clearer view of its potential production design. The vehicle appears similar to the M Neue Klasse concept, though some changes from concept to production are evident.

The front fascia of the teased M3 shares key elements with the concept. This includes the Neue Klasse kidney grille headlights, which now feature an illuminated "M3" motif. The deep V on the hood and the vertical "track lights" in the bumper's outer edges are also present. The two large openings in the lower bumper resemble those on the concept and appear to have movable flaps. The front splitter seems less aggressive compared to the concept.

The wheel design on the teased M3 is generally similar to the concept's, but a traditional lug fitting replaces the center-lock design. The side mirrors have thicker mounts, differing from the concept's thinner arms. While camouflage obscures door sculpting, the production car's concave shapes may be less pronounced. The door handles are flush-sitting electric units, replacing the concept's pillar-mounted pulls.

Significant differences are visible at the rear. The integrated ducktail spoiler is replaced by a tacked-on decklid spoiler, and the area that housed the roundel is now flat. The taillight design appears similar, and rear track lights are included, though they may not protrude as far as on the concept. The diffuser is largely absent, suggesting a more aerodynamic rear end. The rear bumper's shape is related to the concept but less ostentatious. BMW announced that this M3 will be built at its Munich plant, which will exclusively produce electric vehicles starting in 2027.
