While BMW fans are patiently waiting for the new M4 Coupe to debut in September, its racecar sibling – the M4 GT3 – runs lap after lap in France.
The development of the car goes almost precisely according to schedule, a fact that the manufacturer is very proud of given the whole Covid-19 situation. As soon as it left the factory in Dingolfing, Germany, the pre-production racecar was transported to Circuit of Miramas, France.
The M4 GT3 will replace the M6 GT3 coupe on the racetrack in 2022, but it will also compete in a number of races in 2021, giving the engineers a better understanding of its strengths and weaknesses.
The design of the car is not being held secret anymore. It looks just like the street-legal M4 spied on the streets before, but with a wider body and kit.
The racer will likely pack a three-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, but this isn’t official yet. The only thing revealed so far is that the car produces over 500 hp (375 kW).
