Anonymous sources are reporting that BMW is readying an M4 CSL model for a limited production run in July 2022. The news is rather reassuring, given that the last entry in the CSL line dates back to 2004 (see the photos and the video here).
Back then, the Bavarian carmaker took an E46 M3 and fitted it with a 3.2-liter inline-six engine boosted by 17 horsepower to 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW). The car also received stiffer suspension, sharper steering, and a 110kg (242lb) reduction in curb weight.
The new CSL – if it indeed makes it into production – should be based on the same formula, bringing along more performance components, suspension tweaks, less noise insulation, and more engine power.
