Video: New M4 Competition vs. RS 5 vs. AMG C 63 S

CarWOW’s latest video pits a G82 BMW M4 Competition against an Audi RS 5 and an old-gen Mercedes-AMG C 63 S. The three German sports coupes compete in a rolling start, a standing start, and a brake test.

The rear-wheel-driven M4 Competition packs a 3.0-liter bi-turbo six-cylinder that hits an eight-speed A/T with 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs in at 1,730 kg (3,814 lbs) and starts from £76,000 in the UK.

The upcoming AMG C 63 S is a hybrid car that uses a 2.0-liter turbo four-pot in conjunction with an electric motor. In contrast, the current generation still holds to its 4.0-liter V8 pushed to 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. A nine-speed A/T delivers the momentum to the rear axle. The weight is roughly the same as above, and prices begin a bit higher at £77,000.

The RS5 is the only AWD coupe in the trio, packing a 2.9-liter V6, 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft). Despite the signature Quattro AWD system, it manages to weigh 15 kg (33 lbs) less than the competition and cost less at £67,500.

In the video, the Audi manages to pull ahead of the competition when the BMW driver has a sluggish start, but comes second to the BMW when it launches well. The brake test was virtually a tie.
