The Bavarian M4 Coupe packs plenty of performance, but is still incomparable with the Dodge Challenger Hellcat in that it balances power, handling and comfort rather than prioritizing flat-out acceleration. Will tuning be able to erase the differences between the two? Let us see.
In a new video by Sam CarLegion, an F82 M4 comes to the drag strip packing 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 746 Nm (550 lb-ft) under the hood. It combines boosted performance with a lighter curb weight of 1,690 kg (3,725 lbs). A rapid-action DCT box helps things further, as do racing tires.
For its own part, the Challenger stays stock and is more than three hundred kilos (around 700 lbs) heavier than the opponent. It is still considerably ahead in terms of power and torque, though, with 717 PS (707 hp / 527 kW) and 884 Nm (652 lb-ft).
Watch the video to find out if the BMW has what it takes to oppose the North American muscle car.
