The new BMW M4 CS (short for Competition Sport) will become available to pre-order in late May and will start from $123,500 in the USA before any options. Pricing for the other markets is pending.
The sporty coupe uses the exact same powertrain as the M4 CSL, which is based on a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-pot. It churns out 550 PS (542 hp / 405 kW), surpassing the recently updated normal M4 by 20 PS (20 hp / 15 kW). The torque peaks at 650 Nm (479 lb-ft). An eight-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels via an active rear differential.
The CS needs 3.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill and can double that acceleration in 11.1 seconds. It doesn’t hit its speed ceiling until 302 km/h (188 mph).
The production will take place at the company’s Dingolfing factory in July this year.
