Akrapovic unveils BMW M5 titanium exhaust system

Aftermarket exhaust system manufacturer Akrapovic has released a video featuring a brand-new titanium exhaust for the BMW M5. Apart from making the car 9 kilograms (20 lb) lighter, it comes with a power surplus of 11 hp (8 kW) and 21 Nm (15 lbft) of torque.

The sports-grade exhaust features handmade carbon tailpipes and can be purchased with an optional sound adjustment module that enables you to quickly switch among the available sound modes using the infotainment system or a dedicated mobile app.

BMW M5 owners may order the new Akrapovic exhaust starting at €8,000. Installation will only take a few hours to complete.

The German luxury sedan normally ships with a 4.4-liter turbocharged engine capable of 600 hp (447 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lbft) of torque. The top-spec Competition trim offers 625 hp (466 kW) and accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.3 seconds.
