The BMW M5 and the Mercedes-AMG E63 S are both luxury saloons with plenty of performance, but which one is faster on the drag strip? This video has the answer.
Both cars are three years old, but their credentials are still very impressive. The M5 makes use of a 4.4-liter dual-turbo V8 rated at 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) and 749 Nm (552 lb-ft) of torque. A ZF eight-speed automatic transmission distributes the momentum among the four wheels.
The Mercedes packs only four liters of displacement, but gets slightly more out of them at 610 PS (602 hp / 449 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). It also drives all four wheels through an automatic gearbox, albeit a nine-speed one.
Watch the video for an exciting – if close – race.
