Akrapovic releases world’s first titanium exhaust for the BMW M5

The Slovenian exhaust system designer Akrapovic has released the first exhaust for the BMW X5 made out of a titanium alloy. Watch the YouTube video for a complete review of the novelty.

The titanium system weighs almost 10 kilograms (22 lb) less than the stock one and features carbon pipes that reportedly increase the engine performance by 11 hp (8 kW) and 30 Nm (22 lb·ft) of torque.

It also comes equipped with adjustable valves, using which the owner of the car can customize the tone and volume of the sound produced by the exhaust.

The novelty can be purchased for approximately €8,000.

The BMW M5 series ships equipped with a 4.4L V8 turbo engine rated at 600 hp (447 kW). The Competition Package improves that number to 625 hp (466 kW). The vehicle only needs 3.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill.
