The BMW X3 showed exceptional results at the moose test conducted by km77.com a while ago, so hopes were high for the X1. See for yourself how it went.
The car tested was a base specification equipped with the least powerful engine and FWD. It also had stock 19-inch wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tires.
The video clearly shows that the ESP tech of the X1 cannot function at full efficiency, causing the car to hit multiple cones during lane switches. Dropping the speed from the original 81 km/h to 78 km/h (from 50.3 to 48.5 mph) did not help, either. Only at 74 km/h (46 mph) did the crossover SUV manage a clean run.
For the purposes of comparison, it must be noted that the X3 spec tested was different in a number respects, including a much more powerful engine and AWD. Perhaps those advantages made it more agile at the moose test.
