BMW unveils EV roadmap for the next 10 years

The Bavarian carmaker has revealed its electrification program called “Power of Choice”, which envisions selling over 7 million part- and all-electric vehicles under BMW and MINI branding in the coming decade.

To achieve the status of the world’s first electric vehicle manufacturer, the corporation will have to find a way to sell around 460,000 such vehicles per year. To put things into perspective, BMW only sold 42,249 units in 2019.

New all-electric models will include the iX3 SUV (the battery-powered X3, see photos and the video for more), as well as the i4 Coupe and the iX SUV based on the iNext Concept. The first of the trio should emerge later this year, while the latter two should follow in 2021. Later confirmed releases will include the iX1 (compact SUV), the i5 and the i7 (two flagships of the EV family and their respective series).
