Those of us looking forward to buying one of the latest BMW cars should have all the more reason to do so soon. According to a message released earlier today by the German car maker, all new BMW 3-Series, 4 Series, X3 M, and X4M should come with an optional 3.0-liter, 475-horsepower V6.
Its exact release dates are unknown, but it would be reasonable to assume that the crossover models BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M will be the first to take advantage of the new engine, followed by the M3 and M4.
It bears mentioning that less than a month remains before the big reveal of the new 2018 BMW X3 M, the first M car in the X3 family. As for the BMW 3-Series and the BMW 4-Series, these will take advantage of the state-of-the-art CLAR platform. Among other things, it will make the cars 50 kilograms (110 lbs) lighter.
