H&R developed a set of lowering springs for the range-topping BMW X3 M a couple of years ago (see video), and is now following up with a similar upgrade for its more affordable alternative, the M40i.
Installing the new springs lowers the center of gravity of the car by 35 mm (1.4 inches) at the front axle and by 20 mm (0.8 inches) at the rear axle. According to the manufacturer, this should result in reduced swaying and more confident cornering.
From the aesthetic point of view, the mod further emphasizes the already massive air intakes in the front bumper and lets the wheels sit tightly in their respective arches.
The spring kit costs €287 in Germany and is installable on all year 2017 and newer X3 models, including those with adaptive suspension (the functionality is preserved). Also on the list are 22mm (0.86-inch) Trak+ wheel spacers starting from €108.
