All-electric BMW Concept iX3 debuts at the Beijing show

BMW has demonstrated an environmentally-friendly, battery-driven SUV Concept iX3 during the ongoing 2018 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in China. The car is scheduled for release somewhere in 2020.

The new off-roader is essentially a reworked latest-gen BMW X3, sporting some blue color accents throughout the body and a new set of exclusively designed wheels. That’s about it for the appearance changes, though.

Under the hood of the innovative BMW Concept iX3 lies an electric engine with 270 hp (~200 kW). It connects to a 70 kWh battery for up to 400 km driving range. Depending on the power source, the car may need 30 minutes or more to attain full charge.
