Few would directly compare the BMW X3 M luxury crossover with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV – sure, they look similar on paper, but their target audiences differ a whole lot. Well, someone still felt that a few drag races wouldn’t hurt.
As you probably remember, the German soft-roader has a three-liter inline-six turbo under the hood rated at 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW). The Stelvio packs a V6 TT 2.9 with the same power rating. However, both have received performance upgrades for the race.
The X3 M now pumps out around 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and can rev up to 800+ Nm (590+ lb-ft) of torque. The Stelvio QV has around 620 PS (611 hp / 456 kW) at its disposal, and we couldn’t find its torque stated anywhere.
The paper specs point towards a clear winner, but will the BMW be able to use its power advantage? Watch the video and find out! (Note: two bonus races with an M3 and an M4 are included at the end of the video.)
