BMW X5 facelift to debut on February 7

The facelifted version of the fourth-gen BMW X5 will officially debut on Tuesday, February 7, BMW Blog reports.

High-quality spy shots of the refreshed SUV were only made in January. Judging by these, the vehicle is getting a backlit front grille (the size stays the same), revised bumpers, new taillights and revised headlights.

A new iDrive 8 infotainment system combining a 14.9-inch multimedia screen and a 12.3-inch digital dashboard under a single curved pane of glass is arguably the biggest change inside. BMW has already developed iDrive 9, but that operating system will not make it into the X5 until the next generation.

We are told that the X5 xDrive45e, which had 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW), will be replaced with a better-performing PHEV based on a 3.0-liter six-pot turbo. The X5 M will also be available and may end up with 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) or so. Having said that, the specs remain to be confirmed, so let’s wait until the next week and find out what flavors the new X5 comes in.
