BMW puts prices on its X5 M & X6 M Competition First Edition for Australia

The German automaker has launched pre-orders for the First Editions of its X5 M and X6 M Competition crossovers. The southern continent will only be getting four vehicles each out of the 250 FE units released worldwide.

The X5 M will start from $264,900 AUD before all options, and its upmarket cousin will go for $273,900 AUD and above that.

Shipments will only begin in the first quarter of 2021, but you can already leave a pre-order against a $500 AUD deposit.

Both off-roaders boast 21-inch custom wheels on the front axle and 22-inch ones at the rear, carbon fiber mirror caps and rear spoilers.

Inside, dual-tone leather adorns the cabin along with Alcantara and carbon fiber elements. Standard equipment includes a panoramic glass roof, sunscreens, ventilated front seats, a dash cam, and more.

Powering the series is a 4.4-liter V8 turbocharged to deliver 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW). An eight-speed transmission drives all four wheels, letting the bulky SUVs reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds.
