The camera-wielding crowd around the Nürburgring has filmed the new X5 M on camera as well as made stills, but the car is still wearing a bit too much camo.
Judging by what could be discerned, we would not expect a facelift as extensive as that of the new BMW X7 and 7-Series. The headlights have been redesigned, but not in the two-tier fashion so popular today. The radiator grille hangs on to its usual ‘nostril’ size, too.
More changes can be seen in the bumper and taillight department. The body kit will probably stay unchanged, and the only noticeable update inside will concern the multimedia system software. A larger display would not be out of the question, either.
Powertrains are the one area where nothing is granted. The current generation comes equipped with a V8 rated at 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW), or 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) if you opt for the Competition spec. These numbers might rise to the equivalent of 630–650 PS, but those numbers are just rumors at this point.
