BMW will be bringing a uniquely painted X6 to the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany, held on September 12-22, 2019.
The German carmaker has co-designed the one-off crossover SUV, which is called the VBX6 Vantablack, with Surrey Nano Systems and Levitation 29. A few years ago, a research resulted in a discovery of a nanotube-based pigment that absorbed up to 99.6% of all light directed at it. The Vantablack has a variety of other interesting uses, such as absorbing radio waves. BMW uses it as a pure fashion statement, though. The ultra-black paint conceals the outlines of the vehicle, making the headlights and the grille ‘nostrils’ stand out even more.
Aside from the unique Mk2 X6, the company will be unveiling the third generation at the show.
