The refreshed BMW X6 has just been spotted driven outside with only partial camo on, allowing a closer look at the design changes. The photographers caught it being tested near the North Loop in Germany.
As you probably understand too well by now, the radiator grille area is the first place to look for changes in a new BMW. As you can see, the shape seems unchanged, but the size is bigger than before. To the joy of all coffin grille haters, the new X6 still looks miles behind the M3 and M4 in the grille size department. Furthermore, considered within the context of its massive new front fascia, the X6 actually manages to integrate its grille fairly well into the overall design.
Compared to the current-gen crossover SUV (see video), the prototype boasts slimmer headlights, different air intakes and a more aggressive-looking bumper. Greater changes still are coming to the cabin. There are no photos of it yet, but reports are claiming there is a new curved display serving as the digital dashboard and the infotainment display at once. A new, minimalist gear selector is also high on our list of expectations.
The M Performance version of the X6, which slots just under the range-topping X6 M, is expected to come equipped with a new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. The same engine powers the X7 M60i with 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW).
