The BMW M GmbH division sold a record-breaking 135,829 cars in 2019, surpassing the previous year’s result by a whopping 32.2%. The launch of the new X5 M and X6 M, as well as some special editions and spinoffs, contributed to the total sales in no small way – so now the company rolls out a First Edition of its Competition-spec X5 M and X6 M.
Customers can choose between Frozen Marina Bay Blue and Frozen Dark Silver for the main paintjob. The wheels will stay Jet Black in any case, and while the front pair comes sized 21 inches across, the rear axle boasts larger 22-inch rims.
The inside space of both SUVs takes advantage of bi-color Merino leather, black and blue Alcantara, orange stitching and commemorative plaques. Rounding things off are stylish carbon appliques both inside and outside the car.
Things stay stock in the tech department: both off-roaders rely in a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to propel them forward with 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) is a matter of 3.8 seconds, and the max speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h (155 mph).
Pre-orders will begin in a few days, and each model will be limited to 250 units.
