BMW has unveiled the X7 Nishijin Edition, an exclusive trio of SUVs for Japan sporting a sophisticated shimmering body finish and a traditional Japanese interior trim.
The exterior paint is called Ametrine, and consists of a large number of pigments with mica and aluminum particles mixed in for a shimmering, chameleon-like effect. The color changes depending on viewing and lighting angles.
In turn, the inner space makes use of Alcantara and ivory Merino leather with Nishijin textile mixed in. The Japanese traditional fabric is created from different types of specially interwoven yarn. Armrests and accents are trimmed with leather and thin metallic foil.
From the technical point of view, the cars correspond to the xDrive40d Pure Excellence spec, which comes equipped with a three-liter turbo diesel and a 48V starter-generator uniting their efforts for 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.
The price amounts to 16.8 million Japanese Yen, or around $152,000 USD.
