All-new BMW X7 leaks in patent images

Patent images showing the final version of the flagship SUV BMW X7 have been uploaded to the database of a certification agency in Brazil. The car should therefore premiere in the fall of 2018.

Based on the photos, the off-road vehicle gets a stylish radiator grille with enormous vertical ribs. Actually, it is the same grille the X7 Performance Concept had when it was introduced last year. The front and rear lights have also been carried over without modifications. Only the side mirror holders, bumpers and door handles were redesigned.

The all-new BMW X7 is based on the CLAR architecture also found in the BMW X5, BMW X3, and BMW 7 Series.

The car will offer three seat rows. The manufacturer doesn’t reveal any kind of engine-related information yet, but rumor has it the car will ship with a selection of gasoline and diesel engines 3.0 to 4.4 liters large. Hybrid and performance versions are also possible.

Once it rolls into the dealerships, the BMW X7 will have to compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLS series for customer attention.
