Video: BMW XM spotted sidling silently through the snow

BMW is busy developing its next flagship SUV, the XM. Camera-wielding spies have just nabbed a prototype at one of the test grounds and filmed a rather detailed video of it.

The model is very heavily disguised with fake bodywork in some places, so talking about its design would be premature at this point. What we can say with certainty is that it is a large car with slanted roofline.

From the performance standpoint, the hybrid crossover seems to have quite a bit of torque and more than enough power. It looks stable in turns, and you can see the test driver sending it into a controlled drift from time to time.

The range-topping XM is set to debut with a part-electric system rated at 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. The full-electric range will be capped at 50 km (31 miles) or so.
