The Patent Office of Japan has added these images of the upcoming BMW XM to its database.
On the whole, the car looks close to its conceptual version except for quad trapezoid tailpipes, edgy bumpers, a revised shoulder line and slightly different profile. The curved LEDs in the taillights and the suicide doors are also absent in the final design.
It is official that the M division’s crossover SUV will utilize a hybrid powertrain based on a V8 engine. The combined output will exceed 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW), but the all-electric range will amount to only 80 kilometers (50 miles).
The premiere remains scheduled for late 2022.
