BMW believes Urus and G-Class owners will be interested in the XM

The BMW XM may not be for everyone, but the carmaker is convinced that current owners of luxury SUVs from other brands would be eager to complement their car collection with the ideological successor of the iconic M1.

CarBuzz quotes the above statement as coming from two executives of BMW M, CEO Franciscus van Meel and Customer VP Timo Resch. “Many people driving a Lamborghini Urus or a Mercedes G-Class are saying they would like to see something similar from BMW,” van Meel said in the interview. Resch supported him, admitting that the BMW XM may not look that tempting to current BMW M owners. Instead of them, the company intends to target luxury SUV drivers who have a Lamborghini Urus, a Bentley Bentayga or a Land Rover Range Rover sitting in their garage.

Furthermore, the execs expressed hope that the United States would become the largest and most lucrative market for the XM, followed by China and Middle East.
